Watts Beach House
Project Type
Architecture
Location
Holden Beach, NC
The sun was setting over the canal as Greg Shue pulled up to the beach house. He had been hired by the family to redesign the house, which had been in their family for generations. The house was in need of some serious TLC, but Greg could see the potential.
He spent the next few weeks going over the house with the family, discussing their needs and wants. They wanted to keep the original charm of the house, but they also wanted it to be more updated and accessible. Greg took their input and came up with a plan.
The first thing Greg did was to open up the floor plan. He knocked down some walls and created more spacious rooms. He also added an elevator to make the house more accessible for everyone.
Next, Greg updated the kitchen and bathrooms. He added new appliances, fixtures, and countertops. He also made the bathrooms more accessible by adding grab bars and wider doorways.
Finally, Greg added a screened porch to the back of the house. This gave the family a place to relax and enjoy the outdoors.
When the project was complete, the family was thrilled. The house was now a modern oasis that still retained its original charm. They were so happy with Greg's work that they recommended him to their friends.
Greg's work on the beach house is a testament to his skills as an architect. He was able to take a tired old house and transform it into a glorious new space that the family will enjoy for years to come.
